He hired tutors to handle her education from the time she said her first words, and they handled everything that her parents should have taught her, from how to walk to how to conduct herself in public. Her father paid more attention to her than her mother ever did. She was barely spared a glance on a good day, left in the care of her nanny and tutors. To her mother, Lisette was nothing more than an excuse to keep her locked in the manor. She would play the act of a loving mother if they had to make an appearance in public together or if someone visited, but that was the only time she looked her way when she was younger.[break][break]
Lisette was five when her mother finally looked her way, but for all the wrong reasons. Her mother had failed as an actress, holding the limelight for only a year before she was overshadowed and scandals swept her out of the business. Her parents had managed to 'save' her with an arranged marriage, thus preventing any chance she had of pursuing her career again. Instead, she decided she would live through Lisette. A vocal coach and dance instructor were hired on the spot, filling in the little free time Lise had to herself.[break][break]
One night, while her father was home, her mother managed to convince him to allow Lisette to study abroad. There were plenty of schools that she wanted Lisette to go to in order to receive recognition, but to flat out put Lisette in an acting school would result in a flat no. Instead, she chose Outback Academia. Given that the school boasted a wide range of courses, it would be easiest to stick her there and enroll her under something entirely different than what she told him.
